The grape varieties used in the production of Alghero Rosso DOC wine are red grape varieties authorized in Sardinia, with the exception of aromatic varieties. The organoleptic characteristics include a ruby-red color and a winey, pleasant and characteristic olfactory profile. On the palate, it is dry, full-bodied, slightly tannic.

Novello: The grape varieties used in the production of Alghero Rosso Novello DOC wine are red grape varieties authorized in Sardinia. The organoleptic characteristics include a red color and a winey and fruity olfactory profile. On the palate, it is soft.
Liquoroso: The grape varieties used in the production of Alghero Rosso Liquoroso DOC wine are red grape varieties authorized in Sardinia, provided that the fresh grapes have been dried to a minimum natural alcohol content of 15%. The addition of wine alcohol is also permitted. The wine must undergo a period of maturation and refinement of at least 3 years. After 5 years, it can be classified as “riserva”. The organoleptic characteristics include a garnet red color and an intense, complex and ethereal olfactory profile. On the palate, it is sweet, full-bodied and balanced.
Riserva: The grape varieties used in the production of Alghero Rosso Riserva DOC wine are red grape varieties authorized in Sardinia. The Riserva classification is only permitted for wines that have undergone an aging period of at least 24 months, starting on November 1st of the year of harvest.
The organoleptic characteristics include a ruby-red color, with a winey, pleasant and characteristic olfactory profile. On the palate, it is dry and full-bodied.
